Why Bother?!?

I have been around here for a couple of days now and have noticed on quite a few threads, that people who have nothing interesting to input, or anything in common with the topic will post anyway just to say that they don't know or whatever. It really is annoying. You people are really wasting space. WTH??
I like adding to topics that interest me and things I know about. Why do people do this? I know this topic has been covered already but is it really the money thing why they're doing it? If anyone who does this responds to this, please, do tell.

Yeh I like good topics to respond to, but some people are only here for the money, I have found some quite blunt, anyway welcome to Mylot, it is a good fun place with some very nice people posting and I think you will find Mylot are forever upgrading so there always seems to be something new...enjoy your time here... :)

Thank you very much!! I am already addicted to mylot. I put the word out on another forum that I frequent. Hopefully they will come here and mix it up with the rest. I do really like the features here. It's good to hear they upgrade alot. Thanks for the welcome.:)

How am I wasting space? The topic has been covered as far as "oneline responses", "one word responses", etc. I want to know WHY they feel the need to do it. I have seen tons of people complaining about the examples that I have given, because they feel it's cutting into their pay. So like I asked before, if you don't have anything to contribute than why do YOU bother responding??

If someone makes a totally inappropriate response, that's their problem. If you have defined it as a problem for you and get annoyed I think you have to ask yourself, "What can I do about this?" The answer, of course is, "Nothing."
We could spend a lot of time researching the reasons for inappropriate responses. My guess is that most are because a very large percentage of the people here don't speak English as a first language. And, then there are the kids, playing up. But the point is, there ain't nothin' you can do about it.
If you ignore it, you will be much less annoyed.

For the most part I do ignore it. I just want to know why they do it. I do understand that this is a global community and I give those who don't speak english first serious props for being on here, but that still doesn't explain WHY people bother responding to something without an original thought.
