marriage??? advantage or disadvantage?

Can anyone tell me if marriage is an advantage or more of a disadvantage? Would it be best to act married even if not married (live in) before getting married?

i respect all people's view about being with their partners. either they want to get married or they want to live in first before getting married. i for one wants to live in first for some few years before getting married. i want to know more about my partner and i want him to learn more about me. marriage for me is a forever commitment. so, i want that both of us is sure to really get married.
