Uniforms consisting of shirt, pants, socks & shoe - One set = RM130
Books and workbooks plus blood sucking exercise books printed by various majlis - RM150 for a Standard Five student.
Bags & stationeries = RM 30
Some fees to be paid to school = RM20
Total = RM330 for basic stuffs for a Standard Five.
RM400 for a Form Five student.
RM150 for a Form Three kid because he is getting hands-me-down books from the elder brother.
Total : close to RM1,000 = An amount that many poor families cannot afford.
Imagine if you have five kids, you will need at least RM1,500 even if you get free books loan from the Government.
Anyway…yay! School opens tomorrow. This means, no more late night loud music to disturb my train of thoughts while I am writing paid posts. Or people asking me to prepare supper like Indomie mee goreng kari kapitan at 2am.
It also means I don’t have to prepare breakfast and meals throughout the day.
It means lot of rants and whines like, “Ma….why do we have to go to school?” But it is nice to get rid of them!
Best nyer….One more year before I get rid of my toddler to kindie. Then, total freedom!

Here in India getting a seat in a good school is very tough and after that it costs a lot
to my knowledge the cost could not be so easy to be borne by a middle or lower middle class family
its getting tough now a days

I have heard stories like this my friend. India government should do something about this. Based on my knowledge, this is caused by the overcrowded population in India. I suggest that there shall be a proper enforcement to limit the number of children like Singapore does.
I am sure many people will not agree with this but one must come to the reality. You can't just have too many people. There is only one earth. No Offense.

What I am paying towards school expenses per month (average) was my total monthly salary couple of years ago. It has become prohibitively exhorbitant to send the children to school. Only the government schools charge very less, but the facilities are very poor and teaching awfully disgusting.

Indeed my friend! But sometimes, even non-government school are bad them self. It depends on the government. Government school like in my country are better. Unlike non-government, they give a lot of aids and even some money to the students.
Students have to be study hard on them self so that they can archive their ambitions. I am sure everyone knows that.
