What is the most important word in English?

I think the word 'why' is most important. What do you think?

I would have to say, PASSION. With out passion... think about how many words would be empty. You can not love with out it, you can not hate with out it, you can not educate or be educated. You would not desire anything or then again you would not know that you were lacking. You could not say yes or no with conviction, Yes I believe Passion is the word.

Wow I don't know that I could pick just one word. There are many that we could not ever get by without. I would say here are my top 5
1-Love
2-Yes
3-No
4-Hungry
5-Jesus

I agree with princess ~ LOVE is the most important word because it makes the world go round!
Without Love there is nothing ~ there is no reason to get out of bed in the morning, no reason to smile and no reason to live.
Even before people could speak they experienced and showed love :)

the word "no" is the most important word of English, one has to learn the art to say "NO"
