Is Tendulkar really a great player?

I think Tendulkar is just an overrated player. Watching him play today in the third and final cricket test against South Africa, this thought would have crossed the minds of many. When there was so much need to attack and take the game away from South Africa, he got into a shell as if he was playing his first test match when the reality was that only a debutant was bowling to him. If he couldn't attack even a spinner who is playing his test match, what on earth he was doing there. I would 100% say only because of him, Dravid got out in order to score quickly and keep the scoreboard ticking. This is not the first time that Tendulkar is doing this. After laboring for more than 60 balls, he got out for a paltry 14 runs. If Tendulkar can be called a great, then I think Dinesh Karthik can be called as one, as he is the only person who showed the urgency and the need to attack which everyone will normally expect Tendulkar to do as a senior player having played 135 tests and more than 10,500 runs. Tendulkar doesn't deserve his place in this Indian team (so too Sehwag) and he should retire before being pushed away. What do you say?
