I have subscriptions to Newsweek and other magazines. When I've finished reading them, usually over coffee, I leave them at the cafe for the next person to read. I guess you could say The Second Cup gets a free subscription of Newsweek! Don't forget to remove your address labels, before leaving the magazines behind.

You're welcome. I also do that with my newspapers. It's great for the environment too. Why throw a magazine out, just because ONE person has read it? The information is still the same...

we sell civet coffee (kopi luwak), rather cheaply. the coffee are picked up from the wilds by farmers and natives in our area to augment their very low income.to help even a little, we buy the civet coffee from them at a higher price than ordinary coffee, so they are rater industrious in collecting them. however, we have not yet found a good buyer, and stopped buying from the collector natives, who were naturally very disappointed. so you can help by finding a bulk buyer for the coffee.i heard civet coffee sells expensively in the US, Japan and somewhere else. how about that?

while you are drinking your coffee, you get a high. think of someone you dislike, but not necesarily hate, and imagine beautiful and good traits about him/her. praise him/her in your mind, send positive thoughts in the mental ether to him/her. it will improve your relationship and your mental state. do this with everyone you can think of, and you would start a cycle of good karma with each. remember, you can move mountains with your mind.

I guess simply buying coffee would help the coffee farmers from third world countries. So keep on drinking coffee!
