So, I have a theoretical question... For a person you loved deeply, would you be willing to move to a distant country knowing there would be little chance of seeing your friends or family again? Please tell me why, for either side. I'm trying to kill time, and thought this might start an interesting discussion. Thanks for indulging me!

I have always said no, I wouldn't move. I am too close to my family to give them up forever. I want my kids to be able to spend time with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, the whole deal. Of course I can say that because it has never happened to me. I try to only meet people that are local to me, because I know I wouldn't want to move. I think it would be unfair for me to ask someone to move for me if i wasn't willing to move for them.
