the united nations outer space treaty,to which most countries including the uk are signatories, forbids nations from claiming ownership of outer space, including the moon.
noone has the right to own land on the moon,or any other celestial body.no signatory could support or enforce a private claim to ownership of land on the moon without breaching the treaty.
so any claims to the title are unenforceable.certificates of ownership can only be that-certificates.they do not confer title on real estate.
so ive always wanted to know why people bother buying certificates saying they own an acre of land on the moon when in really they dont.

Basically for show and a donation to some company. you can buy a star and name it too and I am sure that is a hoax. They probably keep reselling the same star over and over. And you get a certificate etc.. Waste of money

Money make madness I guess. Why should anyone think of going to purchase a piece of the outer space? To whom will the payment be made? Ok, maybe I will offer to sell a piece of the star to wo ever that money has blocked his/her reasoning faculties. I guess they can better chanel such money to something that can stand the test of time.
