Well I have never buy anything from Ebay and I wanted to buy something.
Is it really safe to buy from them?
How can I be sure that i'll get the thing I buy? And that I'll get it with no harm?
How does EBAY works in general?
Israel is not one of the insured countrys in Paypal.
Does it mean that if I have been cheated I will not get my money back?
Thank you all!

I've been buying and selling using Ebay for years now. I haven't had a a problem. Ebay works just like a regular auction profile with Ebay just acting like an intermediary that doesn't actually touch the money or get involved in the transactions. My advice to minimize problems with Ebay is to read seller's feedback before buying. Look for sellers who have feedback in at least the 100s.
As for Paypal, check with them to see what protection you have. If the Ebay seller is from Israel you might still have protection through your court system.

In over a few thousand transactions I've never had a problem. With you living in Isreal though, you must make sure sellers will ship to you. A lot of them won't. Plus the postage is high for out of the country shipping. It's actually the seller that gets ripped off with the no insurance with PayPal. You would get your money back, and the seller would be holding the bill. Unfortunately that is why I had to stop selling to other countries.

Well, some pointers to make the eBay experience safer would be:
1. Check the seller's feedback (this can't be emphasised enough. Even if they have just one or two negatives, check the reason for the negatives).
2. Check the payment method offered.
3. Check the shipping methods offered.
4. Always, *always* msg the seller before bidding.
5. Check the listing description page very carefully. You never know where you'll find some unpleasant listing term in small print.
6. If its too good to be true, think twice or even thrice.
7. eBay does have the item not received process and the like, so just go through it to be aware of what options are there for you in Israel.
8. If a seller offers shipping insurance, find out exactly who covers the insurance cost, how will it be reimbursed and so on. Shipping insurance is actually more of a benefit to the seller than the buyer.
9. Check out the shipping costs. It may be a little on the high side.
10. Never use the Buy It Now option before contacting the seller.

I have been an ebay buyer for years now and just started selling on ebay last year. There is not anything unsafe about ebay at all. Be sure to check ratings and if they have any negative ones look to see what they are for. I don't think that you should have anything to worry about.

Ebay is safe for the most part, read the auctions, look at the feedback you judge by that if you want to buy from that person, I like using paypal because if they do cheat you they you pu in a complaint and they almost alsways side with you and get the $ back, but if it isnt offered for Isreal I not sure what the alternative is

The best thing you can do for yourself is a little research. When you find the item you want to buy, check out the seller. If they have a high feedback score, like 98-100%, you are going to be find. Also see how many transactions they have had, and how long they have been registered. Look at the other items they are selling, too. I don't know much about international sales, but if the seller feedback is good, then everything should be fine. I wish you the best of luck.
