Grow your own Wind with Wind Farms

Wind power is totally free (or is it?) Wind farms are sprouting in the U.K. at a massive rate, and while a few actually look nice, massive numbers of turbines cause a ‘blot on the landscape’. Already 16% of power in Scotland is from wind power, with a new wind farm being produced with 140 Turbines, which will dramatically increase the amount of power produced. But are wind farms beneficial? Think about these laws of physics, 1) Matter cannot be created or destroyed. 2) For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Or as they say in Yorkshire you never get ‘owt for Nowt’.
There have been reports that large number of birds have already been killed by these wind turbines (some of the birds have been very rare). This alone should cause concern about the wind farms. Also there are the wind turbines themselves, they need a minimum of 8 mph wind to turn, and a maximum of 36 mph (although I did hear a report that newer turbines can operate up to 56 mph). So even in windy places there can be many days when the turbines cannot operate.
What about the wind itself, Physics Laws could mean that the wind is decreased as it is turned into alternative energy, and eventually there could be a lot less wind in these places. Wind turbines also set up harmonics (noise) and vibrations, with enough of these especially if the harmonics link up then they could cause problems with the earth, perhaps even setting up minor earth-quakes.
While I think that there could be a place for wind farms, I don’t think there should be to many in the one place.

We need power. Wind power seems safer than nuclear power. I put more value on human life than on birds. Surely there must be some way to "scare" them away. I would think that the noise and vibrations would deter them eventually.

Unfortunately the noise and vibrations doesn't scar away all the birds, they won't feel the vibrations very well if they are flying. While I think we need lots of different ways of producing power, it can take a number of years before all the drawbacks have been discovered.

Come on Eskimo... What bird is going to get killed by a wind generator? A blind one? A drunk one? Or the rare brandy gobbler? One that is sick of living!
Earthquakes? What have you been reading? Windfarms for Dummies written by Exonmobile?
There's now't wrong wi Yorkshire that a good windfarm can't cure lol
Those beautiful Yorkshire moors? Good for grouse and now't else. Unless you are a microlite pilot. Give me a break. Even the pubs are ten miles apart lol

There's always been a lot of hot air coming from Yorkshire, so maybe you need wind farms to blow it all away, take a scientific approach to them with an open mind, that's all I'm asking, look at this link (one of many against wind farms). http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/highlands_and_islands/5367494.stm
I'm not against wind farms, just masses of them
