Sheets?, toothbrush, dish sponge, etc. I saw this on Oprah yesterday and was flabergasted. If not cleaned properly your kitchen sink could be 8000 times more germ infested than your toilet. Did you know when you flush your toilet it sends off tiny particles in your bathroom that reach your toothbrush? Yuck! I will be changing these items much more often from now on, and my toothbrush is now covered. Not to mention the tiny mites that live in your bed. Do you vaccuum your mattresses?

OMG I saw this also. I could NOT believe it. Believe me when I say this though...I changed my sheets, threw out my old toothbrush and got a new one, and threw out my old sponge and bought two new ones, as soon as Oprah was over yesterday!!!

I got rid of my sponge too. I took one whiff and out it went..lol I use to microwave it for about a minute while it was wet, but I don't think that does the trick..lol I am a neat freak too, and that didn't matter. It's the stuff you don't see..

Hmmm i think to solve the situation its best not put the toothbrush inside the vicinity of the toilet so that particles in the toilet wont reach your toothbrush. As for me I designed my bathroom wherein I provide a space outside where I can brush my teeth not inside the bathroom to avoid this kind of problem. As for me I see to it that after i use the sponge i place it in an area wherein it can dry up because wet and moist area are more prone to bacteria. I change my toothebrush every after six months simply because after six months i dont think it can clean my teeth properly anymore, i dont know if its is psychological but i make it a point to change it when it reaches nearly six months.

Thank you OPRAH!!! I change my sheets atleast every other day.. it may seem extreme but I have a little girl that sleeps with us that has eczema and I try to keep everything dust free. I don't use sponges for the reason listed on Oprah-- it's a breeding ground for bacteria.. & -O- yes.. the toothbrush- definately need to have that one covered & I read somewhere you should replace your toothbrush after every sickness and every 3 months. Your kitchen sink is dirtier than your toilet.. so if something touches your sink-- like a washcloth-- you shouldn't wash your counters with it-- because your just spreading those germs all over the place :) I'm a clean freak-- so I do all of these things to the extreme I'm sure.. but, if you didn't do these things-- guess how many are in your house :)
