We can put a man on the moon, make nuclear weapons ,cure disease, launch satellites in space. We have amazing radar technology. Why can't we invent a device that will render a roadside bomb useless? It does not have to be just the USA, all allied countries should be working on this alone or working together, somebody do something! Our soldiers are dying and a lot of them are under the age of 25, fighting a war in another country instead of reaping the benefits of freedom in their own country. Sure we are proud of them but we also cry for them. Is anyone doing anything about these IED's that are killing our country men?

One of the keys to dampening the attacks is to put Iraqis to work cleaning the streets. Many of the IED's are put along roadsides under trash, in burned out vehicles, using fake concrete blocks. If you hire the Iraqi's to keep their streets clean it will limit the number of places to hide these devices.
IEDs will never be elimintated unfortunately. The American Public's perception of the enemy is a wide underestimate of the truth. The insurgency is well finacnced and they are smart. They are finding new and better ways to develop these things. We just have to do everything possible to limit their chances to successfully place them.

I usually don't pick best responses until I get more than one response, I don't think there could be a better response than this. Thankyou I actually learned something new.

My pleasure. I always try to put a lot of thought into my discussions. This is a great topic, but unfortunately I don't think you'll actually get a whole lot of response.
