Have you ever had anyone change your views or opinion on something that you thought could never be changed.
Especially here on Mylot.
I have been able to take a different stance on things, when someone gives a good argument that makes me think maybe I was wrong in my view or opinion.
Have you?

Yes, I have found that reading some of the discussions here on MyLot really do make me think and consider other angles; that's what a good conversation is supposed to do. I've always been open-minded and tolerant of people's diversities as far as race, religion, skin color, sexuality, etc. and make it a point to treat people with kindness. But the discussions here have really broadened some of my thinking about politics and religion, in a good way. They challenge you to re-assess and re-evaluate, and ultimately to be more open-minded.

Hi! Yes, I have changed my thinking on several things in the past 10 or so years. Included in those are my religious beliefs and my political beliefs. I guess pretty much the whole core of what I believe has shifted. It's strange to now be on the same side with people I used to disagree with! We should consider ourselves fortunate that it's never too late to change our minds or rethink our beliefs. Good topic! :-)

I have sometimes changed my mind about things and like you, it can make your life better.
It's ashame when you meet people who are so close minded that they will never take the oppotunity to look at a different perspective.
Thanks for your response!!

Thank you for such a reply to my comment. I think that I tend to over write when posting for a discussion. Somehow, I feel more like myself when I write. In class, I feel like the weight of my past is carried with me, and every where I go.
When I write, the weight comes off and I am free once more.
Thanks again,
Katina;)

I am always open to someones opinion about things...I like to see it from all angles. While I am not easily persuaded to completely change my thinking I have "softened" a bit when someone can pose a good arguement. I have though changed alot of my views in the last few years tremendously. Having 3 little babies makes you view the world differntly and things that seemed so important before are less now. I think as we age and collect life experiance that its only natural to shift our way of thinking. If we didint grow and mature in our thoughts, I think the world would be in a whole mess of trouble. I have met many close minded people, and I have to wonder if they are happy with themselves? Most seem to be pretty miserable people...thats just my opinion though! Good Question!

I agree that having kids does definately change your outlook on life.
I am amazed at how so many people are closed minded and will never shift their views even when the evidence to is staring them in the face.
I think these are the ones who loose out on growing and having mature thoughts.
Thanks for your comments
