Self-Publishing can be very exspensive. Just keep searching around on the internet and you'll find something. Good luck :)

If you put your book on the Internet, how will you get royalties? Do you have the option of making your book available only in print but publishing via an Internet company? Thanks.

The only advice you need is do not part with a penny for advice! There are thousands of people out there offering advice for sale, and most of it is actually already present in your knowledge base. If you are already experienced in small business you will have a fair idea of sales and promotion in any case. There may even be some free courses on the net which will sharpen the skills you already have. Many places offer a free web page and using that in conjunction with a search engine would reach a large audience. Hope some of that is useful.

You are right, I find some people charge for advice but I won't pay for it. I know the challenge will be doing my own promtion and sales but I do intend to write my own marketing strategy and look at how I want to promote my book, I know my target market etc but I will need to do a formal concrete plan. I intend to also design a site to promote my book. I just need to tie up the loose ends. I thank you for your advice:-)

Hey Junig1. I have self-published my own book before. If you want to do it in e-book format, it's not as hard as it sounds. Most e-books are done up using Adobe PDF software. That can be expensive, but I had a guy do mine, send me the PDF file and I just have kept it. I'm going to send you a friend request. You are welcome to contact me and I will do what I can to help you.

Try Writersweekly.com. It is an excellent resource for writers and gives great advice on self-publishing.

First off, you should definetly send it to a reviewing place. A popular book site or local newspaper may do this for free or with some small charge. However, if a great review is written about it, then that will get it a lot of promotion. Some other things are to start a website for your book (buy a domain name) and add some excerpts from the book. These are just two ways. I hope they were helpful.

Your two suggestions are good, I truly appreciate it. Getting a good review would be great and it would lend some credibility to my work, which would definitely work for me and I guess a website is a must:-)

For self-publishing, www.lulu.com is one of the best. It will be difficult to do your own sales and promotion, trust me.

I think lulu.com is a fovourite of many people so I will take a look at them again. I must admit that the sales and promotion part of it will be quite a challenge. I will have to come up with a marketing strategy - that will be my real challenge, thanks:-)

Check out Booksurge.com which is a self-publishing company owned by Amazon. I think they are very similar to Lulu.com. The Amazon connection may be an advantage when it comes to distribution and promotion.
