You know you're a cat lover when..... I have raised 38 cats of my own since I was 7 years old, including the 4 I have now. Many died from natural causes, some didnt, some ran away or couldnt find their way home, some were stolen (I believe), but all were loved and well-kept.

I have raised a total of 13. All of them came to us as strays or where dropped off. We had one litter of 9 I believe that was put in a milk carton, inside of a cardboard box and then was thrown in our ditch. When we went out there and found all of these tiny kittens, we had to keep them. All but three of them came up missing. More then likely from the coyotes, or bears. We burried a couple from being hit in the road. And three of those are still alive being loved and cared for.

I have lost count of how many Bee LOL but up there like you as far as raising cats. I too have had some die of natural causes and sadly some were victims of speed freaks finding pleasure in targeting cats on the road and in November I just found out from some guy that lives a mile and half from where I am that he shot cats through the summer saying they went on his property. So how many of them were feral cats I care for.

I have 8 cats now but there was a time when I had close to 20. Strays were coming around and I'm a sucker for cats and then they had a bunch of litters. My husband doesn't like cats but he tolerates it because he knows how I am about them. My male cats are hardly ever home. The only ones that stick around are the females except for the male kitten. He is 6 months old and looks like he is only 3 months old. I have 2 calico's, Suzie Q. and Annie and the rest are black and white and gray. My cats even sleep with my dogs in their boxes. My big dog Jasper loves the cats. Sometimes he even lets them eat with him. Once I get a new scanner I will scan and upload my pics I have of them. I take pictures of my animals every chance I get. I don't have kids so they are my kids :)

Pumpkin and Little Grey - Two of our cats, pumpkin and little grey (who isn't so little anymore)
I'm not sure to be honest. I've always had cats in my life, even as a small child. Right now we have 11, although one is just staying with us for now, that still leaves 10. I'd have to say at least the 38 you have done if not more. I think it's a little too late in the night or too early in the morning for serious counting. However I am a cat lover and have always enjoyed having them. They may drive me crazy at times but they are well worth it.

OMG, I need my eyes checked...I read this 3 times before I realized you were were saying "including the 4 I hav.." I read it as "including 41 I ..."...lol That said...We have had cats since I was about 11. My sister found a stray female and brought her home. We feed and care for her heritage still to this day...35 years later. Currently we have 3 in the house, plus my munchkin cat. Outside we have 9 at the time. Recently all but the youngest two females, and 2 males have been spayed or neutered. When kittens are born we try to find homes for them. If they are found ill or with a problem, we take them in and keep them a house cat. What I find interesting is still most of the females are calico. There has only been about 10 female kittens in all these years that were not.

Aw! I'm glad that you've given such a good home to so many wonderful cats! ^_^ My family used to have quite a few cats when I was young. I keep saying that we had five or six at one time, but I was young enough that i don't remember the actual number. I can think of at least three names off of the top of my head, so we had at least four, because one of them, a black cat called Colleen, lived much longer than the rest and she was around until I was a teen. I miss her. She was a sweet cat. ^_^

I live in front of a patch of woods i guess you would call them. Anyway there have always been strays living in the woods. Within the last 5 yrs I've been finding runts and abandoned litters of kittens by my house. Of course we watched the litters first to be sure if they were being taken care of but almost always no. So of course I would play mommy to the abandoned litters. In the last year i've had about 3 litters ranging from 1 to 5 kittens each. I have no idea how much all together. After they're old enough to leave their "mommy" I find them homes and try to keep in touch with their new owners.

I have had about 10 cats, including the ones I have now. This amount is counting the ones I have actually kept indoors as pets throughout my lifetime. Now if you were to calculate stray outdoor cats I feed, feral cats I have rescued, etc. the number would go up some. But I guess the bottom line is, we love cats, and love having them in our lives, and isn't that a wonderful thing?
