Children in America are not beaten nor touched by their parents if they do something wrong. Do you think that is correct? I feel thats why lot of children are getting spoiled because of that. Children should be scolded if they do something wrong, so that in future they wont do that wrong thing. Its really bad that American Children are so free to do anything like start drinking at early ages, drugs, smoking, s?x etc.. What does America feel about this?

i agree that alot of kids are spoiled b/c their parents don't punish them and let them do whatever, but lots of children in america are beaten. i was one of them. that is no way to teach a child how to behave. i do believe in punishing kids, but i would never beat my kid. i have no respect people who treat their kids this way.

Yeah I agree with you about not beating but there should be some kind of punishment for kids who misbehave or do somethine wrong. Just words will not work I guess.

You are right. The reason here is because of child protective services. If we so much as threaten to beat our kids, they will get taken away. I, however dont believe in beating, I believe in a swift smack on the behind when needed.

I don't know what America thinks, but I think you are making a gross generalization. If and when I have kids, I will certainly punish them, spank them, etc. And I'm an American, so I guess that throws your opinion out the window. On that topic though, I'm sure that there are children in other countries that aren't physically punished for their wrongdoings. Please don't make generalizations unless you can prove that every child in America has never been spanked, or "beaten" as you put it. I certainly was, as were my siblings and all of my friends with children punish their children.
