Definitely not. Every human has a soul. You are born with it, and when you die, your soul goes to heaven and hell. So, if you believe in rebirth, it would mean that you believe that somebody's soul actually left heaven or hell, and imbedded itself into another baby, then that baby lived its life and the soul would eventually go to heaven or hell. Souls don't travel around like that. A soul is individual to each person.

That is more or less what I was taught also, but I think that you only have one soul, but that does not mean that you could not have many bodies and lives here on earth with it. Each life here is to teach your soul something. I dont know if ther is really reincarnation, but it is possible and it does not go against religion because you still only have one soul, the one God gave you. Where do you think your soul was before being born into your present body?
