why does a dentist use concave mirror to examine the teeth of a patient?

i think thats a convex mirror on the end of the stick which he sticks inside ones mouth or maybe its concave, well a concave diminishes an image but makes it clear and a convex makes it larger.

i dont know the name of that mirror .but if its called concave then it is...well its obvious the dentist could see easily the damaged teeth ot the teeth itself damaged or not..its design for the teeth i guess
