Priorities?

Growing up where was getting married a priority on your list? What age? Family early on or later on?
I hear most women talk about this as if it's the best thing next to a brooklyn style pizza while in Brooklyn (no substitutes). I'm on my way to make this journey in a few months and I must say i fully understand why men sit the plannign phase out. However, i was called off the bench tonight for registering... all i can say is three hours later my feet hurt, my head ached, and I could of had a job at the place because i was familiar with where everything was from the bathroom to the linens...
What's your input?

If I ever get married I don't want or need a great big wedding, just something small that my Sweetheart and I can plan together. Weddings should not be exhausting to either partner, and I believe that both should be involved. Because I want him just as invilved as I am, I really don't want a big wedding. I want something we can both plan together.

I always wanted my groom to be involved, too. but the truth is, most guys just don't care. My fiance is a gamer nerd, not at all the testosterone-driven manly-man you usually see being disinterested in wedding planning, but he really don't care. There are few things he even has any input on, not that he doesn't care, but because he doesn't really know much of about planning, design and wants it to be "my day" and wants me to be happy. As sweet as that sounds, it gets really frustrating that he doesn't really have an opinion most of the time.

Love is something I always looked forward to, but marriage was never a priority. Being in love was always far more important than getting married to me. The only part of marriage that really means anything to me is the wedding. I don't believe marriage will be, would be, or should be any different from being in a commited relationship. I don't need a peice of paper telling my my love and my word is valid.
I also don't believe that "getting marriage" and "starting a family" are synonymous. I'm getting married next year, but I never intend on "starting a family". I don't like children and I never want to have any.

i was fairly young, i think younger than 13 when i decided i wanted to have children, and a family. i can't say it was a priority for me, but i decided early on

It was getting time to stop futzing around with FogBugz 4.0 and start working on 5.0. We just shipped a big service pack, fixing a zillion tiny little bugs that nobody would ever come across (and introducing a couple of new tiny little bugs that nobody will ever come across) and it was time to start adding some gen-yoo-ine new features.
