An Amazing Place To Visit Before You Die

Two weeks ago I came back home from an interesting vacation to Sedona and Phoenix (Arizona). I only spent a night and part of the next day in Sedona, but it's so overwhelming and beautiful, that one glimpse of it will remain with you for a long time.
The first time I went to Sedona was two years ago when I lived in Phoenix. We experienced some amazing things while we visited -- ghost hunts, hikes filled with positive and negative vortex feelings, local musicians, and an overwhelming amount of tourists. It was a great place to go on a unique adventure with friends, especially when those friends had wild imaginations!
Well, the second time I visited (two weeks ago) it was a completely different experience. I came from a different direction, so I got to see completely different scenery coming in. I wish I could accurately describe it. It was this winding highway road that was filled with this apocalyptic scenery. It really made you feel like you were in the middle of something that had to do with creation or destruction. There is no in between there. It's just really a devastatingly beautiful thing to witness.
Eyes don't know what words are, so it's all pretty hard to describe. But, I know that it's one of the most beautiful places in the United States. The sunsets and sunrises are amazing and are welcomed with a huge audience and applause.
I wonder if it would be boring to live there? Heh.

I haven't been there in a while, but the last time I visited there, I went on a jeep tour of the backcountry. I would highly recommend that short of a horseback ride. The horseback ride wasn't available to me, but I managed to get lucky with the jeep tour.

My friend and I were going to do a jeep tour, but we ran out of time. I bet that was amazing! I really enjoyed going hiking with friends to some of the remote spots.

When I first moved to Albuquerque five months ago from New Orleans my breath was just taken away when I saw the Sandia and Manzano Mountains. I had never seen such beauty before and I understand what you mean about how difficult it is to find the words to describe such an amaing site.
Since I live closer to Arizona now I personally would like to take a mini-vacation to Sedona. I have seen some pictures in some travel magazines and it looks like a very special place.
The sunrises and sunsets here are quite breath taking compared to what I was used to. I have never seen such an array of pinks and purples with such clarity.

I've driven through Albuquerque too many times to count, but wasn't all that impressed with it, but I think it's mainly because the only driving I ever did was along I-40. A lot of people I know think New Mexico is beautiful, but I guess I've just been in the wrong area.

I live just a few miles from Sedona and My momlives in the nighboring city of Cottonwood. I actually know of places even prettier than sedona. And yes the people who live there are bored. It is a big tourist town and it is for sale in a way. No one really Just lives there its all about tourism, selling the southwestern culture. In fact alot of people here think the whole sedona Vortex thing is Baloney. If you want to visit a really pure and amazing place in Arizona, go to Glenn Canyon, It is the least known canyon, and its almost completly uninhabited still, Hundrens of thousands of acres of beauty! check out my new pictures! I was just there Saturday!

I agree with you totally. I have only been there once, and it was so beautiful. just entering, you get this spiritual serene feeling. you can tell right away it is a beautiful place. We came in a a long wind road too, sounds like your 2nd time. I had wanted to check out the vortex too, but didn't get around to it. we didn't have enough time. but, i definitely want to go back! i took so many pictures. i think it was in february, there was a little snow on the ground. (the locals said that it had been years since they had that much snow)
