Just curious as to what people think about this and why. I don't have opinions but I think it might lean to the Democratic side. What do you think?

I think this all depends on what happens in the next two years. Assuming the election were held today, it would definately be a Democrat.
That being said, the Democrats have to prove their mettle in the next couple of years. If they are to win the Presidency back, they are going to have to prove that they are a true action party and they can get something done.
They must also find a nationally electable candidate. Like it or not, I am not sure Clinton is electable in a national election. Too many men don't want a female president, too many midwestern democrats won't vote for such a liberal.. it could get interesting.
The Republicans must also put up a great candidate.

I also think it mught be a Democrat. Most of the potential candidates on the Republican side have been associated with Bush, and people like Senator McCain will be 70 in 2008 (too old) and also, he favours increasing troops in Iraq, something the American public doesn't like at all.
