what is meant by weapons of mass destruction

generally, the way i understand it, weapons of mass distruction refer to neuclear, biological or chemical weapons infact anything that is not conventional weaponry

I don't know... How they define that, as far as I am concerned one single bomb, is a Weapon of Mass Destruction...
But when they were talking about it on US Media.. They were showing Nuclear Warheads, and Anthrax, and other Biological and Chemical weapons....
The missiles they were showing had nuke war heads with some virus at the tip of the missile.. Which at first to me looked really bad, but the more I thought about it.. the more I would think the Virus itself would be killed if a nuke went off... But I don't know about that stuff.. I rather not know. I just wish the wars would end.
