is love sweeter the 2nd, 3rd, 4th ... th tym around?

i have been experiencing heartbreaks in my present relationship. my partner and i usually fight over things and then break up for a while. then if everything cools down we would talk and analyze things over and over again then reconcile. things will be sweeter and more passionate. but time comes and the fire will start to die out again and the whole process would take place again. is it worht it because as the saying goes, love is sweeter the 2nd time around?
