Of course the musicals have memorable soundtracks, like The Sound of Music, or Beauty and The Beast. But what about other genres of movies? Do you have any favorites that the music really impressed you? I love the musice from two westerns, The Magnificent Seven and The Sons of Katie Elder.

I like some of the opening songs of James Bond movies.Love You Know My Name in Casino Royale, very dramatic and reflects James Bonds outlook in life .
Memorable line:The coldest blood runs through my veins,
You know my name...
Also love the opening from To Russia With Love, sounds very romantic. Not sure how that song applies to the whole James Bond image because he jumps from girl to girl.

The Bond Theme played at the beginning of each movie is very much an iconic theme, not to mention all the great songs and artists that have contributed to the brand.

I own entirely too many movie soundtracks, my favorites from non-musicals are: Dirty Dancing, Disappearing Acts, Waiting to Exhale, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut, and Mr. Holland's Opus.

I have only seen Mr Holland's Opus and Dirty Dancing from your list. I agree about the Opus music!

Pretty much any movie score that involves John WIlliams - that guy is a Genius.
Superman , Star WArs , Close Encounters , Jaws , Indiana Jones , ET , the guy never seems to put a foot wrong.
Another movie that had a great soundtrack album ( In my opinion0 was the Lost Boys Soundtrak.

You are right about John Williams, and all those you mentioned. How much has some of his music become a part of our culture!? I have not seen Lost Boys yet
