Because wikipedia is self-checking, it's usually pretty reliable, but remember to tkae everything with a grain of salt. And NEVER cite it for anything. I know profs who will automatically fail a paper if the citations are from wikipedia. What you can do, though, is use the sources listed at the bottom of each page. That's where wikipedia puts all its citations, and that's usually a pretty foolproof way to do it.

I find that, It is very useful infinding things out about people, or things, and getting definitions for things, and sometimes, is a little inaccurate.

It varies a lot. It's a good starting place for info BUT because anybody can edit it, and because they are only a small number of volunteers are checking the entries, there an be a lot of INCORRECT INFO on it! Please beware! The more high-profile info will be monitored by the staff pretty quickly, but there's plenty of content they don't get around to. I've noticed wrong info or even content put up there as a joke that's been in Wikipedia for MONTHS without being taken down. It's really worrying to hear about students preparing research paper who rely on Wikipedia to be totally accurate.

As far as I am considered I think the articles in the wikipedia are very relevent.Yes there are not a huge no of article when we search on the wikipedia but the most positive point about the wikipedia is that it shows the % reliability of a particular article with respect to the search key words unlike any search engines. As far as the updating of articles is concerened wikipeia offers its members to pour the recent development about any field. Thus I think the articles on wikipedia is highly updated. But yes there are few articles which needs to be updated.

From what I understand about Wiki, they're very reliable. They don't allow biased articles, and all information must be verifiable facts from a reliable source. It seems like they update quite frequently, too, depending on the subject. Like any user-updated website, they're prone to vandalism, but there are a lot of dedicated Wikipedians out there reverting and fixing the articles.
