Do you like your beliefs challenged?

Do you prefer to only associate with people who believe the same as you, to only read books, see movies, listen to radio stations, etc. that support and agree with your beliefs? Or do you like to be challenged? Do you read books or see movies that may challenge your beliefs? Are you afraid that if your belief is challenged, it won't stand up? I do not like to be "attacked" but do like to hear others views and beliefs. I also sometimes read books that challenge my belief. I have found that for me, this makes my faith stronger.

As long as it's done respectfully, I enjoy having my beliefs challenged. Nothing keeps the mind sharper than a good healthy debate. And if I find that I learn something from the exhange, so much the better. I generally like to end any discussion that has reached in impasse with "I respect your views, I just don't agree," or something similar. I've found that some of my best friends have at one point or another been friendly adversaries. So the short answer is "Yes." LOL
