The system fo magic use was best in ff7 where you could always use you favourite characters with your favourite spells
Any one else agree or disagree?

Sorry,I'd have to disagree on FF 8.
The "Draw" System of FF 8 sucks. You can just get magics from items if you have Item-to-Magic Refine ability from GFs. So why bother with that command.
I think FF 9 has the best use of Magic System for each job. Not everyone can use magics, and that would make different strategies for different players.
Even the main character has its limits, you know.

FF 10? Nah,the spheregrid system is too..simple.
Unlike FF7's materia, that you can adjust the characteristics of your playable characters, the spheregrid would strain us for doing that.
I like license system on FF 12 better than that.
Tho my most favorable system would be FF 9,and yes I forgot to mention,FF Tactics which you can apply secondary job for each character.

i think the junction system in FF8 was the best. it was the most revolutionary, and allowed for the most customization of characters. ff9 didnt allow for much, but the ability system was nice. ff7 was ok, with the growth and development of the materia. and the grid system in ff10 took a little bit to get used to, but it allowed for uber characters. has anyone filled the entire grid? i have for tidus, auron and yuna. nothing can touch them.

The system of FF7 is unique, but for me it also has a flaw. The nature of system itself made some things 'spammable'. For example, you can execute a command 8 times in one turn with the right materia and equipments, and in some situations, this seems too abusive. Then again, that's the beauty of this system, I think.
Personally, I like the system of Final Fantasy Tactics. Each job has their own set of abilities, but you can customized your character with any abilities you want within allowed range. You can have a tanker with healing power, a mage with support skills, etc.

I disagree. I like FF8 the best. The more powerful the Gf, the more powerful the character. I loved everything about FF8, so dont be discouraged.

The Materia system in FF7 is great. But it was further enhanced with FF8's Junction system. In my opinion, the Junction system is better than the Materia system. =)

I think the best islike FF9 where not all character can use magic, there are types or each character such as: black mage (vivi), summoner (garnet), knight (steiner), etc.
So, each character is unique and i like that kind of gameplay
