What is the best way to promote one's business on this network?

I have seen several posts by now where people promote thier links / business directly. Just a quick question if it is alright to make posts relating to one's business directly or not. I have also noticed there is no signature facility. I think it would be a very good way to promote members' business using signatures. Just my opinion.
