i read alot of disscusions daily, and yet i only answer to a small part of them. that makes me ineffiecient i know, but i can't post comments on a disscusion i have no interest for the subject. how do u choose u;r disscusions? based on the interest, the subject, u only reply to new disscusion or friends disscusions?

me too. i respond to discussions i am interested in. no particular criteria. as long as i like the discussion and i have something to say about it, then that's it..

I mostly only respond to new discussion or discussion my friends started. But somethimes I started answering something and finaly i don't do it at all because I can explain it in english. I don't usuly answer to big debate because its hard for me to answer to it.

If the questions are posed intelligently, and if I can learn from or offer something to the conversation, then I will respond.Usually I don't if words are written phoentically or are computer-lingo abbreviated.I can debate well, I just hate to.

The way I decide what discussion at MyLot to respond to is by searching through the different discussion options, reading alot and finding issues posted that I feel strongly about or have personal or professional knowledge about.
If someone has posted a discussion that is about something I wonder about, I may respond with my thoughts as well.

I have a few methods:
1) I go to my friends and see if any of their discussions look interesting.
2) I type in a keyword and respond to discussions about those
3) I just go to "recent discussions" and respond to something there.

I take kind of a 'rennaisance man' approach. By that I mean, I know alot about alot of different subjects, so I try to share what I know. Sometimes, like in the joke threads, I post to entertain.

If I think that I have absolutely no interest in the subject, I try to avoid reading the topic altogether. I try to post at least 70 times per day, so I can't really use up time reading topics that I don't plan to reply to. I also am finding that there are certain users on Mylot who post things that I am immediately drawn to and like replying to. Some of these people are on my friend list now and I am receiving emails from Mylot when they start a new topic. This enabled me to reply to 4-5 discussions earlier this afternoon that I might have missed if I hadn't had these people on my friend list. I think that I'm really getting the hang of finding things to reply to on Mylot! It's so much fun posting here ^_^

i reply to as many as i can at the moment... just to get my rating up a bit... plus the money factor is good... i am on $3 dollars in 3 days... i know that doesnt sound much to me but on the first day i only got $00.19c so honestly i just respond to anything from friends, that im interested in or the subject.

Like you I have started reading a lot of discussions. And like you I only post to what I know best and only venture out into un-charted waters occassionally. My main interests are the legal system, employment law, medical myths and the like. Unfortunately, many of my "aquaintences" can't be bothered with a forum like this and as for my family members, most of them don't want to be so vulnerable as to post in an open forum.

well i had hard time doing that myself. i was raised in a familly where vulnerability was accepted only among ourselfs, was not supposed to be showen outside. and i have alot of hard time dealing with that now. thank u for u'r comments

I also read a lot but don't respond to most. How do you respond to something that makes no sense to you? I always try to respond to at least one of each of my friends posts a day. I also go into my interests and try to find something interesting to post on there...
