How long have you been active, what is your home group, what are your favorite activities in the SCA, and what is your persona story?

I first joined the SCA in Meridies in 1984. I was off and on active and inactive though I kept my membership for all of those years.
After getting married and moving to California in 2003 I finally rejoined the SCA in Caid, along with my husband and my mother who moved to CA with us. (I'm her caretaker).
Currently I am the webwright for the Shire of Al-Sahid, though I'm mostly inactive due to my return to school.
I'm a novice at everything! I love the arts and sciences but seem to be a complete idiot at anything I try! I enjoy baking/cooking, costuming, weaving, brewing, and lots of other crafts but will never be adept at any of them! I enjoy trying though so will never completely give up!

I've retired, but I've been active since 1976.
My name back then was simply "Lady Amanda", but since then I have been working with the MSR here in NY (an independent city-state of the SCA). I was named Klarenmet Krieger Von Lubek for a very long time...and my lozenge is recorded in the College of Heralds.
I couldn't tell you much about my persona history because it's been so long that I've forgotten it. I just like to say that I'm a semi-retired brewer from Germany, and leave it at that. I do play fiddle, and miss the old members of An Dubhaigeainn mightily. Most have moved far, far away.

Wow...hmmm. I discovered the SCA in 1992 in missouri. Kingdom of Calontir. I was VERY active until 1995. I joined the military and didn't really get back into the SCA until about 2000. I lived in Meridies (Florida panhandle) for about three years and was my local groups chronicler. I'm currently in Artemisia in Utah. I've been to a few practices/meetings and a couple of events. It's hard to because my husband isn't into the SCA. He'll be gone for four months starting in May, so I will be taking my two sons to events then. My persona is a 14th Century lady from Valenciennes, France. My SCA name is Colete de Valenciennes. My name has been passed and I'm still awaiting my device to get passed. I was into costuming and embroidary. I tried fighting but kept coming home with bruises and so I decided I will just watch the fighting. I want to get into brewing if possible.

I became involved with the SCA in 1977. I don't have a persona because there just isn't one that sounds feasible when you are a belly dancing archer, wandering bard, and vendor. It's hard enough just finding garb that will function for all those different activities and still be anywhere near period or convincing. I know some people really get into the persona part so to each their own though. The SCA has changed so much I barely recognize it anymore. And I think I had a lot more fun doing it when I was 22. I still go once in a while though.
