Just wondering what pop/rock stars you've seen in concert and what were they like?
Over the years some of the concerts I've been to include:
Lionel Richie - Great concert but halfway through the concert he shouted "Hello London" even though he was in Dublin. Everyone laughed and I shouted back "That's ok Michael". LOL!
Brittany Spears - Very disappointing. She jazzed some of her songs up and my two daughters didn't recognise the music at all.
Michael Lee Roth - Good concert but MLR slipped on the stage and demanded that somebody come out and wipe it.
David Bowie - Tour of the Glass Spider. It was brilliant. He's terrific.
The Cranberries - Great concert.
Randy Crawford - Really enjoyed her concert even though it was only a small concert.
Michael Jackson - Absolutely spectacular concert and I'll never forget all the children coming out on to the stage and singing "We are the world"
Steve Earle - I'd never heard of Steve Earl until I won tickets to his show. I was really impressed.
Melissa Etheridge - I won tickets to this concert too and bought her cds afterwards because I liked her music so much.
Chris de Burgh - I was just 14 when I went to this concert. It was great, obviously, because it was my first concert. I fainted twice and wasn't let back in the second time.
I'm going to see Dolly Parton next March and I'm really looking forward to it. If anyone else has seen her in concert, I'd love to hear about it.

Melissa Etheridge, I saw her cause my friend invited me to the concert.I had only heard one of her songs prior to going. It was an okay concert.
Kenny G, twice. I really enjoyed this concert. Luther Vandrose was there too.
The Temptations, just saw them two years ago. They sing one of my favorite songs.
Color Me Bad, I don't remember to much about that one though.

Oh crumbs. The only one of those that I've heard of is The Temptations, and I couldn't even tell you what they sang.

I've never been to a concert before, alas :( Well...I went to one, and that was Hanson, but I don't really count that because I was dragged to go.
However, I would like to go to a Billy Idol concert, or an Aerosmith concert. Oooh, also the Trans-Siberian Orchestra would be fun. My ex saw them in concert and they're just as good of a "band" at a concert than any.

I ave been to many concerts and Elton John was my favorite. He was alone on the stage...no sexy back up singers just him and he had the whole audience enthralled.

Elton John is a good musician who doesn't need to rely on modern technology so I'm not surprised that he's good on stage on his own. :)

The first concert I ever went to was Garbage, at a small venue in 2001. It was excellent. We were all moshing on the floor, since there was no seating except above in the 21+ area, and I was only about 20ft from the stage. The only other concert I've been to was...Avril Lavigne. I had different tastes when I was younger. _ It was in a huge venue and I way away, but it was still fun. One that I would love to go to, if the songs she churns out continue to be as good as I think they are, is a Shakira concert.

Yeah, she is good. She's probably one of the only artists whose cds I allow the kids to play. The rest of the things they listen to are obscure Goth/Punk things that start my head pounding when I hear them start up.

Gosh, you have been to a lot. I've seen Destiny's Child too. I forgot to mention those. They were great in conceret. I couldn't believe it but those girls were NOT tiny. I know now that Beyonce is noted for her curvy figure but I'm sure she was a size 12/14 and she looked GREAT!

I play a bit of music and I like most music too. The only music I've nevr been able to get into is jazz. I just find it much too heavy.

I have only been to one concert in my lifetime and the bands that I saw were Vixen, Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers and Jude Cole. Vixen was my favorite band when they were together but they broke up a couple years later. They were an all female band and were very good. Tommy Conwell and the Young Rumblers were a good band as well though I went to see Vixen. I do not remember Jude Cole too much.

so many for me, i was a right little gigger when i was young but here are a few
Thin Lizzy (9) times
R.E.M in 1995 when they played my home town
Bruce Springsteen on the tunel of love tour in 88
Iron Maiden on their first national tour in 1980, and years later on the beast on the road tour
Nils lofgren in my village
Billy Bragg in the same place
Stiff little fingers
Joan Armatrading too
These are just highlites i remember, Each was great in its own way but i think those gigs watching thin lizzy in the late 70s were the best ever, maybe because they fashioned my youth in many ways

I'm going to look pretty pathetic compared to everyone else. I think the first concert I went to as a teenager was The Beach Boys. Then as an adult I saw Anne Murray, Stompin' Tom Connors and Donny Osmond. I am improving. I bought DH tickets to Brad Paisley for this March. We're both looking forward to that.

Darn, I don't think my reply went through here. Slow internet connection. Yes, I was saying I never heard of Stompin Tom, but the Beach Boys are classic. I think the only time I saw them play live was Live Aid.....they did play Live Aid, didn't they? I wasn't there but I saw it at the time and I now have the DVD.

Most of the concerts I've either seen on television or I have on videotape. I've only been to two concerts.
The Bee Gees - someone else could not go, so he gave me his ticket. They seemed to enjoy themselves, & put on a good show.
Scorpions - They sure put on an energetic show.
I also saw a concert of various rock/pop bands in which these bands were local high school teenagers. While the sound system needed improvement in the vocals / music balance, these people did put on good shows.
Anyway, the music is usually too loud for me at concerts, but at the same time, I get to meet other fans of the bands/groups/artists.

I'm not sure if this counts, as one of the best shows I've ever attended was a Kung Fu Girls performance. This is a a relatively unknown band that hasn't been picked up by a major label yet.

Off the top of my head, Bush, No Doubt, Weezer, Veruca Salt, Cake, TLC (this was an all day concert with many acts can't remember them all) Cake was probaby the best. It was an intimate venue and I was probably 2 feet from the stage.

I have seen alot of artists some wich I won´t even post since you probably won´t recognize them - but here are some.
Michael Jackson (History) GREAT, wonderful amazing concert.. never will forget it.
3T, Michael Jacksons Nephews along with tito jackson. I had a crush on 2 of the guys so it was great =) *he he he*
Robbie Williams - also a great concert, probably the biggest artist after Michael. Don´t know how well he´s doing in america though
Same goes for westlife whom I also saw =)
Madonna, also a great show, although I was a bit dissapointed since she almost didn´t sing any "old" songs!
Hmm, that´s all i can remember right now - however I will gte back if i remember more!

I live in a small town in Pennsylvania called Bryn Mawr and we were lucky enough to have a little coffee house here called The Main Point. It got to be famous all over the USA. Performers liked to play here and record companies used it to break in acts in the 1960's and 1970's. It only held about 200 people but in it's hayday the lines to get in were often at least 1/4 mile long. I started hanging there when I was about 15 and those early concerts were the best I ever attended.
I remember Joni Mitchell brought a friend from Canada on stage to perform with her. He was pretty good but nobody ever heard of him. His name was Neil Young.
Bruce Springsteen played there all the time when he was just a kid from Jersey starting to catch on in Philadelphia but unknown everywhere else. (He came back and did a benefit to save the place when he was famous and the Point was broke.)
Probably the most moving concert ever was when Odetta came and sang all the great Civil Rights songs. I was so embarassed because I started to cry but when they turned the house lights on everbody was in tears.
There were great old Southern blues guys and around March 17, they always tried to bring in an act from your country like The Irish Rovers.
I could go on all night. God, I miss that place. It closed and reopened and closed for good. During it's last incarnation one of the performers that played there from time to time was Steve Earle - small world Huh.

I've only seen a few artists...but I've seen them multiple times! Barenaked Ladies (6), Matchbox Twenty (2), Clay Aiken (3), Rob Thomas. I've also seen a couple of Neil Diamond concerts. It's one thing for me to buy a $10 cd of an artist...it's completely different to put down $50+ to see them live!
