What do you think is best, A laptop or a Desktop?

It depends on how do you intend to use it. If you're going to play a lot of games, then get a Desktop. Laptop is very handy when you need to use a computer during your travel or when your out in the mall. With the emergence of internet access via 3G or HSDPA, soon laptop will be sold like popcorn.

For office and home desk top and while traveling it is lap top.

I have always used a desk top but am in the process of getting a lap top as with all these kids here i need to have a bit of privacy to talk to my friends about matters which i do not want my kids to know about ( abuse )

I think a desktop is fine, considering a laptop with the same features as a desktop costs a lot more.
