I have the advantage of being able to use the ATM's where I'll be travelling to so I won't have to worry about the cash issue.
The most important thing to remember is what will happen if you lose your money, ie someone robs you.
Your best bet is to have just a little cash on you, but make sure you have a credit card or debit card that works where you're going.
To determine how much you'll need, you need to figure out the following:
1. How long your trip is.
2. Where you will be staying.
3. Where you will be eating.
4. What you will be buying.
5. Where you will be going while at your destination.
6. How much you may need as emergency funds in case something goes wrong.
I hope this helps.

yes, thanks. i use credit cards and atm's too but u dont know the country where ur going too and where the atm's are, or if there are no atm's in the area u are, or they dont accept credit cards. And eventhough u carry these with u, u need to make some kind of a plan or have in mind what ur going to spend, cause u cannot go arround spending ur limit in ur card. so i think the question is: How much do u plan to spend on a trip?
