I'm not talking about comics or political satire, but any others would be good to know about. I read Woody Allen's "Without Feathers" a long time ago and like it. I think Joseph Heller's "Catch-22" is a riot. Anyone have a really good funny book to share?

Have you tried any book by P.G.Wodehouse? I find them all extremely funny, especially the Blandings stories. They're the funniest ones I've come across till now. I remember once i was reading this particular book of his in train and couldnt help but laugh out loud and people kept giving me this weird glances :D I find them very funny, but i've had a friend who didn't..so I can't say for sure if you'll love it the way I do, but it sure is worth a try

Yes, Wodehouse is good. I have laughed a lot when I read his Jeeves and Wooster stories also. The books are better than the mini-series I saw in TV, although I enjoyed them too.

Try 'Three men in a boat', and 'Three men on the bummel' by Jerome K. Jerome. I've read 'Three men on the bummel' in a bus, and the others probably thought I'm mad... Most of Gerald Durrell's stories are funny (if you like animals). Couple of years ago I discovered Iain Banks and his 'The Business', it's still one of my favorites, because he's so witty. I've heard, his 'Wasp Factory' is good also but I haven't read it until now, so I can't give you a personal proof.

'The Catcher in the Rye' by J.D. Salinger is one of my personal favorite. It narrates experiences of a 16 year old boy in New York city, who runs away from his boarding school. Read this about 2 years ago and planning to read again.

Certainly a great book and a classic. I've read it before and still recommend it to people. R

I read both of the books that you mentioned. Well, I would personally recommend any Kurt Vonnegut books. It's more satirical actually than funny but i'm pretty sure you will love it.

Try anything by Tom Sharpe. His Porterhouse Blues is extremely rib tickling
