Mercy or Just?

Which would you rather be - merciful or just? Why? I think this is something quite deep and though I tend towards, merciful, justice is quite important too. Can you actually choose between the 2 and how do you come to your choice? I think both are very important, but some people lean completely to one side so I am interested in seeing what percentage choose which.
