Do you think animal testing is necessary to develop new medicines? Do you think its unethical and should be outlawed?

in a way u r quite right.......but than they do need someone to be experimented on...now would u imagine humans being experimented on...no ofcourse not right.....i don't think it should be outlawed....it's not that i don't love animals but it's just that see the amount of people being helped by this experimentation stuff....so many people get to live a better healthier life due to these animals.....

I agreed with you that we need to think the good side of it. And for the fact that we need it for medicine researchs that will help a huge numberd of world populations we have to do it in such a way.

Well there are people who are willing and volunteer to allow medicines and other products be tested on them.

I think animal testing is necessary. And would only agree to having it banned if the animal rights groups like peta agree to become the guinea pigs instead. That would be a fair trade off for me. And I cant wait until they start making peta fur coats. I will be first in line for one.

Then I will be second in line. After all the stuff I've read about PETA (not the propaganda they put out)I definately think the Peta group should be used for testing. If you do some digging on that organization you would be surprised how many animal killings they do. And the terrorists that they back financially.

This is a very tough issue in my opinion. Whether you are for or against testing things on animals, at the end of the day something will be needed as a Guinea Pig(pun intended) in order to see is products/chemicals are safe, and what effect that have on living things.

Well, I am not sure what my thoughts on this one is. I think it is Bad to sometimes have to put them thru these Tests, but at the same time, if we Humans were the Guinea Pigs, what would we have to endure, and how many would die before they got something right? Just something to think about I guess.

Its not unethical...How else do u expect to discover medicinal effects? You could probably just declare everything unethical and eventually when u reach a hospital for some emergency care, they dont know what to give u.

Although there might be some occasional circumstances where animal testing can be avoided, I think animal testing is needed to develop new medicines. In my opinion animals and the enviroment are resources that we humans should use to our advantage. Some might say its unethical to use animals for testing but how is it unethical saving people's lives with the new resarch. I think animal testing absolutely should NOT be outlawed it is to vital to new medicine and new treatments that PEOPLE need.

To stop the suffering of animals and to truly respect them requires us to stop exploiting them in the use of food, clothing, and entertainment. Vegans are individuals who strive to do no harm towards animals. This means that they try not to use, eat, or wear any animal products such as meat, eggs, dairy, wool or leather. Few individuals can make this drastic of a lifestyle change overnight, so many start off giving up meat first, then eggs, then dairy, etc. It is important to remember that all steps towards veganism are positive, no matter how small

no, i think animals are not experimental "things" that we can abuse because of some whim. i love animals, but perhaps they can use rats (they always did). there should be some sane balance in short!

You can't use rats for everything. You need to use an animal that is similar to humans physialogy or biology or something like that.

I don't know, I find it unethical yet at the same time then we will be the test subjects.

I think this is a difficult situation. While there may be plenty of people who would be experimented on, no one knows about any effects of new prducts until they are tested so, given the choice, would you rather risk the mental or physical health, even life, of a human being or a mouse? I don't agree with beauty products being tested on animals because they are not important. I don't really have a problem with medicines being tested because even killing the animal which is being tested could save thousands, even millions of lives.

I think that animal testing is horrible and sadistic. I think it should be outlawed. Someone has to help these poor creatures from the pain that is inflicted upon them.

Sure, try telling that to the people who need the medicine to live. What you are saying is that animals should be put above humans.

I am not 100 % againt animal testing for medical reasons I think if an alternative is avalable it should be done .I also think people should remember that animals also face alot of the same health problems people do and most of the time benifit as much from the testing as people do .With out testing insulin the dibitic dogs would not have got thier meds and often because animal test are done first the meds are avalable to vets before human dr's . It is often not as one sided as people think I wish people looked into the other side .I am against test being done in a inhumane mannor though we don't need to cause undo suffering for test .
