ok obviously im a smoker. and i agree while it is my choice to smoke, certain places are ok to remain smoke free. but here atleast they are taking this a bit too far. not only can you no longer smoke in bars or resteraunts now you cant even smoke on hospital property! i get not smoking in the hospitl, that is just common sense, but what was wrong with us being able to go outside and sneak a quick puff? whst do you think? should there be certain places where smoking is still allowed?

I am a former smoker (I just quit 3 weeks ago) but some of it has gotten out of hand. There is a new bill on the books (I think California, might be New Jersey) that bans smoking in the car if a child is under the age of 16. WHAT?!?! Now the cops are going to waste time looking in cars to see if you're smoking?
I agree with not smoking in hospitals, but perhaps a designated shelter instead? I still think smoking areas at restaurants (which has been banned in NJ since last April) should be allowed, as well as smoking in the bar (what's the point of going otherwise?)
I know how hard it is to quit and I'm not one of those rabid anti-smokers or anything, but some places should be off-limits.

it just doesnt seem fair does it. its like we are being treaated differently just becuase we have this certain habit. i say we should open some smoking only places and let the non smokers see how it feels.lol

I totally agree with you! Just recently, my niece was in labor, and we were all there, and had to go across a busy street just to smoke..not to mention the weather was bad. I saw nothing wrong with smoking on hospital property, there was a designated smoking area. if non smokers didn't want to be around smoke, they didn't have to go to that area...I am so mad about the places that you aren't allowed to smoke any more. Talk about rights and discrimination!

In California there are certain places where you can not even smoke in public on a sidewalk, it's crazy!
