Paper Qualifications

Nowadays, nearly everyone has a degree...how does one stay relevant and still manage to be competitive to be able to find a job?What current qualification do you hold?

I spent the last three years studying at college because I wanted to work with children. I have got my CCCE (Certificate in Childcare and Education) which is equivalent to GCSE level. I also have my NVQ3 in childcare qualification. Unfortunately even tho I have good qualifications because I am male it is very very difficult to get into a childcare job sadly.
