Here's a situation that my best girlfriend is going through right now. I'd like some feedback on how you would handle this situation, because I'm at a loss for what to tell her myself...
My girlfriend works for a man who owns two restaurants. He also owns a company of his own and depends on my friend and another woman to run these two other stores. Two weeks ago, he announced that he was selling both restaurants, thereby potentially leaving both my friend and her co-manager out of jobs. The owner has given both women three options:
1. Stay with the company and deal with the new owners and hope they pay as well as he does.
2. Go to work for the owner at his own company (the purpose of which neither women knows anything about) or
3. Take three months salary under the table so they can collect unemployment till they find something else.
What would you do?

I must say that if I really like working with my employer that I would go along with him. If there was no way that I could do that, then I would probably take the last option. It is definitely better than nothing.

If i have in the same situation, i would keep the job. As long as i can have a good sallary. Because maybe to find the same quality job is difficult.

Well, if they really love the job, then keep it. New owners aren't always bad or scary, i mean, if they take option three, then they're going to be out job hunting anyway, with potential new bosses they might not like. If they take option 2, well, i wouldn't. If it's something they don't know anything about, or aren't going to be trained in it, or would be uncomfortable with.... And they might like the new owners. why not give them a chance? the new owners just might appreciate not being left in the lurch of their new business venture and might value the women even more.

That's a tough disicusion. I would see if they could feel out the new owners and see what's going on there. Or if they like their boss now follow him. If neither of those sound good then I'd take the money and unemployment. It sucks being without a job even on unemployment so unless she just hates her job and her now boss - I'd try to stick with them. If she's doesn't need need her job then I'd would take option three.
