Why do people do this?

Why do people respond to real discussions with long "jokes"? I know people want to make money, but there are lots of places here to add jokes. I like to read GOOD jokes too, when I'm looking for them. I've seen long jokes in a post about having money for retirement, that's nothing funny & long "jokes" there is just in bad taste. I've seen "jokes" other places they don't belong too.
What do you think?

I found out why people are putting jokes in there...because some idiot put "joke" in the tags....now, without even looking at what they're posting on, if they see the word "joke", they just do the copy and paste routine....all it does is make them really look stupid, and each and every one of them have been reported for their stupidity. It really makes me angry because it takes up so much space on the site, confuses people, and completely ruins the original topic. Thank you for your support!

Your welcome. It upset me too, that's why I started this discussion. (Hopefully the guilty partys will see this & stop doing it, I doubt it though).
