I weigh 191 pounds and I wanted to do something on here to help me lose weight, but I dont know If people here on mylot will be supporitive?
Ok I want to post a pic of me and my weight each week as I lose weight I will also each week let others know what excally I am doing to lose weight but I will need the encourgement of mylot users. I seem to be able to lose weight but never stick with anything so I gain it back.
I was hoping maybe this would help me knowing that I would have to post a pic my weight and details on how I am losing. I thought maybe it would be a success. If I think people will be supportive and intrested my First post will be either Thursday or Friday and I will name my post "I NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT POST#1"

Here is a simple plan to help you lose weight.
First, start walking 30 minutes a day. And start eating less. Don't finish everything on your plate. Eat 5-6 small meals instead of 3 big ones. And don't eat past 6 pm. But if you do, eat something healthy, less than 200 calories, and not after 8pm.
After about 2 weeks, add some cardio exercises like lunges, situps, pushups, and lightweights. And keep on walking. Add 30 seconds of running every 5-6 minutes.
After another 2 weeks, keep up the cardio, just add some more reps getting up to 20 reps. Keep on walking just run for 2 minutes every 3 minutes.
The most important thing is to make sure you walk every day and eat less. You can eat what you want, just subsitute some things for fruits and vegetables and don't eat after 8pm.
Eat your goodies 2 hours after lunch so that way it is burned off before you go to bed. That is when I eat my pudding or cookies or whatever. I can't go without that.
Good Luck.

I will support you. Here is your diet- don't diet!!! Just eat right. diets don't work, but eating healthy and exercising does. Eat 5 fruits or veggies a day,no soda pop (even diet is not good for you), cut the sugar (try splenda instead) and you will lose weight! Exercise is very important, too. Just walking is about the best there is. I am taking a weight management class and this is what I have learned.

If you believe in Indian Yoga/Pranayama. Then please try to do Pranayama daily. Within a weeks time you will find the positive result. It is completely based on systamic breathing exercise, which burns the fats. The details of how to do pranayama is available at this site : www.divyayoga.com. I do it daily so I am telling. It also keeps us away from other dieses.

Posting a picture of yourself each week sounds like a great idea! I too have gone through weight loss challenges in the past, thankfully nothing too dramatic but at one time I lost around 25 kilograms..... The issue is that when you are looking at yourself day by day, you are not always so complimentary and do not necessarily notice your progress as much as others. Nothing is more rewarding than bumping into someone you haven't seen for a few months or so and they immediately point out how you have lost a lot of weight!
A week by week update will hopefully provide you with encouragement and support from many people at MyLot and give you the empowerment to stick wit it! Don't forget to also include the before an after shots when you have achieved your goal weight.Best of luck to you!

I think it is a great idea. I don't know how you plan to do it, but it sounds interesting. One suggestion would be to post a pic every 2 weeks since it might be hard to see any weight loss over a week. I need to lose a few pounds myself. I figure 2 or 3 pounds a week is reasonable. If you have done it before, then you must have a plan. One thing you might try to do, is keep your desired weight in mind and focus on achieving that goal. See yourself as the thinner person you want to be. I know you can do it.

that's great! I had my 2 sons 2.5 yrs apart and gained a lot of weight with each because of being on bed rest. I have worked to get the weight off. Sparkspeople.com has helped me and a few of my friends who diet and exercise too. I wish you the best of luck!

I would just eat healthy, eat 500 calories less than you do, don't eat junk food, only healthy food, and excersize and do cardio to burn more calories than you have eaten that day. But you have to eat, otherwise you will burn your musce doing the excercises. Swimming is a good cardio, and healthyf or you, and running is to. Run a mile at first everyday, then move up to 2, and etc... Probably about every month, move up. You can always get those premade healthy meals that come with breakfeast lunch, and dinner. Oh and always eat breakfeast, i've heard that not eating it will put on more pounds. Just do what I said, or a mixture of what soem other people ahve said and you will be set!!!

I can't stick with anything either so i just cut back and got off Mt. Dew. and started eating healthier. and just today i went to the gym and worked out for about an hour. the elliptical machine works really good on targeting your legs, hips, thighs, butt and somewhat on your tummy. it helps all the areas but more so the bottom half. good luck and i wish you the best. what's your target weight? i weigh about 160 pounds and i want to be 120 pounds. it's a nice size. small but not too skinny and you can wear the nice little clothes in the summer.

I can tell you from experience, you can absolutely do this, and with the support system you need. It's always good to have support, instead of 'going it alone.' I lost 22 lbs all natural no pills, powders, nothing. I can give you the simple tricks and tips I learned online. After having 3 children, and losing all the pregnancy weight, no matter how I worked out and lost the weight everwhere but not my belly area (just the front lower portion) would not budge. Found out I had muscle separation. I vowed to have a tummy tuck done that's how bad/unproportioned my stomach looked to the rest of me, and I did. I'm now about 5 weeks post-op, still sore and VERY tough to do since I have 3 young children. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. Without muscle separation would have made things much easier, but this is my story, and I will certainly help support you in your goal to lose the weight. It truly does help have a support system online, I did that once when I started, a forum on a different site when I was losing weight, it was awesome the responses, and ideas.
