I struggle with this. There are so many good books out there it is almost sacriledge for an avid reader to read the same thing twice. We'll never get to all the good ones even once.
so which books are you so enamored with that you have acutally read a second time?
I have read 'Lord of the Flies', 'Endless Love' and 'Tao Te Ching' more than once.

When I run out of new and interesting books to delve into, I resort to rereading these titles that I've come to be entranced with : "Franny and Zooey" by J.D. Salinger, "Exodus" by Leon Uris, "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and Neil Gaiman's Sandman Series and "American Gods".

There is a book that travels with me, first to be unpacked whenever I move, and I've readit often enough to leave it closed and just recite- but I exaggerate. Mrs. Miniver is the book, and it has been my comfort book- the way we all have comfort foods and comfort clothes. That dear story is my comfort read when the world is too much with me. PS Nice to see the sandman included among the resonses you've got.

I usually don't take time to read the same book twice because there's so many other great books to read. The only ones I remember reading twice are "The Little Prince", "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden" by Joanne Greenberg, and "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck. There may have been others, but I don't remember them right now.

The one that I keep reading over and over is "The Hiding Place" with Cory Tem Boom. She was so couragious. She kept her belief in God no matter how bad life became for her and her sister in the concentration camps during world war II

It's hard to say... I rarely read the same book twice, just because reading is such a long process for me. I don't want to spend that long process again, when I could be reading another book.
I might have read Diet for a New America twice, as I did a report on that one years after reading it. And back as a kid, I read Gum on the Drum hundreds of times. ;)
