I think it should be legalized. There's no reason not to afford the same basic, human rights as heterosexual married couples. And the rights *are* different. Rights on inheritance, medical beneficiaries, custody... gay couples should have those rights as well. And in America, there is no reason not to allow it. The arguments against it are religious. Heck, the arguments against it mostly stem from *my* religion. But this is America, founded on a separation of Church and State. Religious teachings and ideals cannot be used in governmental law.

Live and let live, I say. If two gay persons want to get married then who is to stop them? If they can't get married they would live together anyway. The only purpose of the marriage to me is to give equal rights to the gay people; the same rights given to heterosexual ones, which , in my opinion, is just.

laws governing marriages says that it is a union between man and woman and not between two same se.xes, i think we should stick to that and simple as that. greetings. : )

It also used to say a man and woman of the same race, but that was changed. Should we have stuck to that, too?

good made man and women to be couple, not man with man or women with women. I think taht is ilegal for world and immortal, God created human to treat world, make descendant, and think now how gay couple or lesbian couple make descendant.

To be married is to choose to be a legal entity that is in union with another person (your spouse). As long as the idea of marriage isn't mixed with any form of religion (such as in weddings), the right to choose prevails and there should be nothing to stop homosexuals from choosing to get hitched.

To me the foundations of marriage are love and respect. So it doesn't matter if heterosexuals or homosexuals decide to marry. Unfortunately I live in a country near (too near!) Vatican, and Vatican has a lot of clout with Italy. So I think it should be legal.

Gay marriage exists world wide. Some governments recognize it, others don't. Some religious organizations recognize it, others don't. I was once married to a woman by a Rabbi. The relationship ended, but the bottom line is that the US government has no business telling me that my religiously valid marriage is not going to be recognized by the civil government. See the First Amendment for the beginning of some reasons why assuming fundamental fairness and basic "what's right" doesn't work for you.

I think that gay marriage should be legal. If 2 people love each other nobody should be able to stop them from being together.
