I feel that each family and situation are different. For some families it works out well as I have a friend who has homeschooled all of her children and they are much wiser than the normal school child in each of their age groups.
Every child is different, so, you just have to make a decision based on how the child is, etc.
As for me, I am seriously thinking of finding out what's needed to homeschool my Autistic son, CJ, who is 8.
The school district doesn't do nearly enough for him and his special needs as I would like. They say it's due to not enough money...ha!
I'll tell you what I think; the monies (mega monies) we made last year for the school district, went into people's pockets. Hundreds of thousands of dollars! Where did it all go, because I don't see new books, gym equipment, anything?

When I went to kindergarten we learned to color and to get along with other people. Now kindergarten is about reading and writing. There is no socialization. School is all about learning and regimentation. Even eating in the cafeteria is tighly controled. Without socialization, going to public school is useless. Learning is more than just learning to read and to write and memorizing a lot of facts and figures. Learning is getting to know how to get along with other people.

i think public schools is more better as in public school children gain more knowledge , confident and friends. As far as consern that people were sucessfull by homeschooled its no necessary, If a child get full attention from his / her teacher and parents he / she will the sucessfull person.
