As long as you don't compair the movie to the book it was a decent movie. I would still take the book over the movie anyday.

I think they dont have the budget like LOTR. At first I thought the movie will be something like LOTR. I was dissapointed too..

I liked the movie, obviuosly no where as good as the book, but I still enjoyed it. I didn't like the girl who played Arya though, you couldn't even tell she was an elf. My boyfriend came with me to see it and now he'st hinking about reading the books. So I think it would be better to see the movie before reading the books to avoid disappointment. Will be interesting to see if they make the next book into a movie as well...does anyone know if they have plans to do that?

the movie was very badly done. Even the author of Eragon said that on the Eragon fan site (that part was later removed, i think like 12 hours after it was put up). I never knew that the horned urgals didn't have horns, that brom and Murtagh played such short roles, etc etc etc, i can go on for a while.

My hubby and I both read the book and then went to see the move a couple of weeks later and we both where very dissapointed with the movie. It's not just completely different then the book but it also seemed cheaply made. Also I don't understand why they couldn't even do small things from the book, like the collor of the horses and haircollors and the Aria in the movie does not match the description in the book at all. Anyway great book bad movie.

I'm going to have to agree with ugachaka there...and if you think of it in terms of "lord of the rings" no other fantasy movie will measure up. you can't compare every sci-fi movie to "Star Wars"
