I don't think you need any mind enhancers to enjoy Pink Floyd's music, regardless of which phase of their music you're listening to.

I agree that pink floyd is ONE of the pioneers of psychedelic rock, but not THE pioneers. IMO the beatles had a large part to contribute to psychedelic rock... with songs like Lucy in the sky with diamonds and the entire Sgt. peppers lonely heart felt band album. Having said that, i still think pink floyd is one of the best psychedelic rock groups out there... nothing like watching the wall or just sitting back and listening to some of their work with a little help from a third eye opener.
