Why does God hate sin?
Because God is totally pure, totally holy, totally perfect. There is not the tiniest, tiniest speck of anything to mar His perfection, His righteousness.
God MUST hate sin. He could do none other but hate sin.
What is sin?
Sin is ANYTHING - any thought, any word, any attitude, any action - that denies the authority of God or offends His holy nature, or contradicts what He has said.
When we sin, we are actually saying that sin is more important than God. We are putting ourselves, and our desires, ABOVE God.
Of course God hates sin.
But let's never forget that God LOVES the sinner. God loves the sinner so much that He gave His only Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sins.
