Karthik in place of Dhoni will work in indian favor....what do you say?

Dinesh Karthik has made a great come back to indian cricket and don't you think he should replace dhoni atleast for the test matches? Karthikis far better a keeper than Dhoni and it is known fact isn't it? so replacing dhoni with karthik for test matches atleast does make sense isn't it? don't you think so?

ya i too prefer dinesh karthik to dhoni in the team as karthik keeps behind the wickets better than dhoni.. and he can also bat well ..the thing is that he has not got that much chances so far.. but he is sure to perform

Yes, Dinesh Kartik should be allowed to continue in test matches as a wicket keeper batsman as a player of his calibre should not be wasted also and he is also young and in coming years he will grow into a perfect keeper batsman for sure..

We got to give him chance for test matches for sure and Dhoni will play one day matches and Dhoni should play one day as he is too good a player to miss one day and Krtik can be kept a resrve player in one day formaya nd if Dhoni is not playing any match, then Kartik can take his chance ....

he is the correct choice for one days too.. he can also hit hard.. i hav watched him hit in the under 19 world cup in which he played.. it was awesome

Yes, i do agree with you.But, dhoni can be a good prospect for one day matches rather than test matches .don't you think so and continuing karthik as substitute player is also an injustice to karthik's talent.don't you think i am talking sense here.Karthik is a far better keeper than dhoni for sure....

yes i agree with u that on his day he can turn the match but if it comes 20 and 30 matches than it's useless and it's a right move to replace him as in this way he will feel the pressure and will work hard to find his place again by working hard..........if u talk about dinesh he has done a good job in the last match although we were not able to win the match but then he did his job atleast professionaly ................keep it up karthik

Yes, hackedmind replacing Dhoni atleast for test matches will be a wise move and he should be picked for one day formats where he is capable to turn the matches just by his hard hittings alone isn't it? Karthik has proved again how good his keeping is and more over we also witnessed his batting also isn't it? so picking Karthik for test matches does make sense....

well i think karthik is also a very good player and if nto in the onde days, he can be ver useful in the longer version of the game and let me tell you the style of kartik is more reliable then dhoni. and i feel he is a better keeper than dhoni again st spin . i have seen dhoni making a lot of fumbles when he kept kumble and bhajji. but when yo compare overall they both are very good. the ine thing whic is good for the team is that now that there is two good keeprs, there will always be a healthy competition. and this will help in better performance

Rightly said, Kartik is far better than Dhoni in keeping and Kartik should get a chance in test matches atleast as Dhoni is fit for one day formats and his keeping standards is not that high a sKartiks which is a known fact and even his batting techiniques are not good even though he is a hard hitter...

dinesh played well in the last match..so in think he do well in todayz match..so dhoni got rest for this match..if karthik play well,he can also be in the team, and both dhoni and kartik can play for india..

It is not only the case of today's match and i am more in favor of including him in test matches and not in one day formats as he fits into test matches more than in one dayers and dhoni will fit in more in one day formats....

sorry to just distract you but you know what i would like to say that now india is at the peak of its what we say bad form and it is not only that any of the one person is responsible for it.
whether the qestion is:
Q.should sourav be made the captain of the team?
Q.is sourav giving the team what people were expecting after his come back?
Q.sehwag is not playing good?
Q.tendulkar out of form?
Q.dravid took this or that decision wrong?
Q.the coach is not good?
Q.the coach is more a politician?
Q.wrong decision of the board of taking this bowler in the team whereas the other one was required?
Q.coach taking gangully case personal?

do not you people think that all what is happening is not good and what these people are doing is just decreasing their world cup chances?

He...it seems that you have given the same answer to the other discussion of mine and this will be against mylot guidelines and better to be with mylot guidelines here and this will help you in long run. Coming back to discussion, kartik is a far better keeper than dhoni and should be allowed to keep wickets for test matches atleast.

Now that Kartik is also playing better and keeping is far better than Dhoni and it is a well known fact and so, Kartik should play test matches ahead of Dhoni and Dhoni cannot be played a s a batsman in test matches as already 6 batsman are there in test now and i don't think one more batsman should be included just for the sake of Dhoni...

I feel sorry for Kaarthick because he is also of same age as Dhoni that both are in their prime and playing in the same league.Atleast kaarthick should have been much younger so he can be groomed and brought in as wicket keeper batsmen after Dhoni. Now that is not the case and Dhoni also being a good batsmen i think he will get more chances than kaarthick.I also agree with you that kaarthick is far better keeper than Dhoni

I am not saying that Kartik should replace Dhoni in al forms of cricket .I am just telling that Kartik should get to play one dayers and Dhoni for test matches as Dhoni is a good striket of a ball than Kartik but hasn't got a good cricketing technique which will b erequired for test matches as Kartik is a good batsman with sound technique and better wicket keeping than Dhoni for sure and also young.So, Kartik should fit in test matches...

I dont think this woud be wright to conclusions so soon.He should be observed for another 4-5 matches before taking such decisions.I think it he would be the right player to replace kaif.
Kaif hasnt really performed well in the recent past and i think is gud on th feild also.

The fact is Kartik has performed well in this ranji season and seeing his performance only he was picked to indian teama nd now that he has also performed well in the recent matches in south africa and also in the rceent match against west indies.So, i think he has improved his batting a lot and should be ready to play test matches atleast if not one dayers where Dhoni should play because of his hard hitting...

Dhoni is a good player but hasn't got a sound technique which requires in test matches and whenever he plays against class team his weakness is exploited and that too in foreign soil and his keepingdefinitely cannot be compared with Kartik for sure and so, Dhoni should be picked only for one dayer's and for test matches Kartik should fit in

You are right in saying that karthic is a better keeper than dhoni. he is more agile and athletic. But at the same time, his batting does not have the same exhuberance as dhoni has. He is an attacking player alright but has certain limitations. On the other hand, dhoni has a natural swagger about him and can win even test matches singlehandedly. However, I think that Dhoni should be kept for matches in the subcontinent for which his technique is perfect. For matches in england, australia and south africa, Karthic could be preffered over Dhoni.

Yes, Kartik is more acrobatic and athletic than Dhoni and he has been proved it many times in the past but he was not in selectors favout just because he was not good in batting like Dhoni and now Kartik seems to have made an excellent improvement in batting a she showed in south africa and also in the recent match against west indies isn't it? so, he should be picked ahead of Dhoni otherwise, it will be an injustice to his talent for sure.Dhoni can be considered for one day matches and Kartik for test matches and also Kartik should be kept as an extra in one day matches also, so that if Dhoni fails or injures himself, Kartik will get to play..

well i dont know how can u say karthik is better keepar than dhoni and in batting i think he is now among the keeper like gilchrist and shangakara. talking abt test matches karthik have very good batting technic but batting at no. 6 or no.7 batting with tail i dont think needs technic that time only strike rate will work and dhoni hasnt prove nay think in test yet but he have gr 8 talent and he will learn

It is not i saying that Kartik is a better keeper than Dhoni..but it is fact and every cricketer who know's cricket will agree with me and even commentators who were involved in recent india-south africa match were also saying that Kartik is far better a keeper than Dhoni anytime and Dhoni was picked ahead of Kartik is because of his batting abilities and also his keeping is also not bad butdefinitely not of the class of Kartik and so test matches should involve Kartik and one dayer's should involve Dhoni ....as test matches requires a better keeper first as one missed catch also might cost a match....isn't it?

i dont think so thats a good choice..dhoni is a consistent performer..karthik had played some good cricket but we cant say he is a consistent performer by just 2 or 3 matches..let him play some more matches then only we can decide between dhoni and karthik

Kartik has made his debut 2 years back and he was out of the team just because his batting was not upto standard and to tell you he has impressed each and everyone with his keeping abilities and now that he has been playing well in ranji trophy this season he was picked and he also continued his form in south africa and in the recent match against west-indies...so, i think he deserves a chance in test matches atleast

in recent times dhoni didn't play any special innings in tests...but i have no doubt about his talents....karthik is gradually emerging as more technically sound batsman than dhoni and he has proved it in 3rd test match in south africa...so i think we can test karthik in test mathces in place of dhoni for 1-2 tests or a full series..in one-day...there is no option but to continue dhoni....he is very handy in slogs...and can turn the match towards india's way anyday..we need this type of batsman in tetss also...like gilchrist..he scores so fast that aussi bowlers get enough time to bowl out the oppositions..so,i personally feel karthik will be more handy in tests in foreign soil....

Dhoni doesn't have a proper technique in crciket and he is succeeding by virtue of pure power and he will be tested against the best teams in the world in testing conditions especially in test matches which requires more of technique.So, Kartik who has a better technique and also an excellent keeper should replace Dhoni in test matches while Dhoni can be picked for one dayers.

Dhoni is an excellent player...no doubt in that But, one has to agree taht Kartik is a far better keeper than Dhoni and test match requires a more desciplined wicketkeeping and so Kartik can be picked above Dhoni and Dhoni can fitin one day matches isn't it?

well i would go one step further in saying that both karthick and dhoni should be there in the playing eleven. karthick is batting much better than sehwag, he should replace sehwag in the team and dhoni should be there in te team.

Oh...great view and looks to be a nice suggestions as sehwag is out of form and this also makes sense and what do you think of keeping heer.Who should keep teh wickets as everybody know's, Karthik is a far better keeper than Dhoni and more over i haven't seen Dhoni pickled just for batting and fielding in any position isn't it?

Definitely Karthi is far better than Dhoni in test match format as his keeping looks far better than Dhoni and those fre powers of Dhoni will be needed in one day matches and Kartik's skills looks better and he has proved in south africa and everyone praised on his keeping a syou are also aware of this isn't it?

No, i think Karthik definitely deserves a place in test matches as a wicketkeeper and Dhoni should take over him in ove dayers as Krthgik is far better keeper than Dhoni and test match definitely requires a better wicket keeper and Karthik fits in very well.Now that he has also improved his batting, it should favour him better.

I agree completely with you alienstar. See, we should not allow dhoni to get burned out before world cup and even after that. At the same time, we should not ignore a talented wicket keeper and an apt test player in karthik. So, it will be perfect if what you have suggested is followed by our selectors. Should any one of them is unfit, the other can substitute without any problem. In the face of many meaningless discussion in the last one week regarding cricket and indian cricket team, thanks for starting a discussion that is beneficial to our team in the long run.

Yes, Karthik is a talented wicketkeeper and just fits in test match format better than Dhoni as Dhoni is a better prospect for one dayer's and not for test matches for sure as wicket keeping should be of more class in test matches as one dropped catch also can make a huge difference on the outcome of the match for sure

Well, i agree with you as Dhoni is the ebtter choice for one day matches as he alone can turn around many matches single handedly and so, his selection in one day matches is automatic but only in test matches, Kartik should replace him...

You are right and to tell you karthik's performance is to good in recent ranjo matches and that is why he was picked for south africa tour and when had made his debut before also his keeping was too good but because of his batting form he was dropped.But now, he has improved in his battinga nd also scored runs in ranjo as wella s in south africa tour.So, i think this is the right time to include him into test matches and Dhoni for one day scheme of things......
