This was such a wonderful book - so many important themes, so much emotion. I often cried as I read, couldn't help it and couldn't put it down. This is one of the few books that I read twice, and it was even better the second time. I have been waiting for Hosseini's next book, I thought it was due for publication in 2006, but didn't see anything. Also, I visited Khaled Hosseini's website (www.khaledhosseini.com) and got on the mailing list, but haven't heard a thing. Haven't heard of "A Thousand Spendid Suns" either, but I'll sure be looking for it!

The Kite Runner was also translated to German, very cool.

I just read "A Thousand Splendid Suns" Hosseini's second novel. It was wonderful, and I maybe even liked it a little better than "The Kite Runner" (if that's possible). Now, I am just stuck waiting around for him to write another book. He is an amazing author.

I'm halfway through "A Thousand Splendid Suns," and Hosseini proves that he is not a flash in the pan with this second novel. The writing is beautiful and captivating. Even though it takes place in Afghanistan, his characters are relatable. He really is an amazing author.
