Moderators on Mylot

Do you think mylot need moderators as other sites have .Some of us seem to spend time reporting members that keep doing the wrong thing, 2 of my friends have had to report people today . One asked for me to read a response and to help her which i was only too pleased to do and i also reported the member. My other friend told me she spent an hour following another member and reporting him .If we had moderators they could do this and maybe then the site would get sorted sooner and the spammers and copy/pasters would be weeded out. We could still report but moderators would be better.I have sent a suggestion to mylot so if you agree please could you also send them a message. Why should we be doing this instead of posting and earning.We are just trying to make the site better for all members

but we have influence they take notice of what we say and then decide if it is good for the site or not . if enough members agree then our chances are better

I agree with you and then we should be able to have better discussions without the problems

I think it is a good idea to have them - some poeple respond to discussion with one word or something that is not even relevant to the discussion topic - it gets annoying!!

Now that I agree with! If you don't have anything really meaningful to add then DON'T RESPOND. Those people should have their monetary rewards taken from them! Join me in giving extremely short and irrelevant responses a minus!

There are moderators and they are doing a good job, I am sure. I don't think that they are constantly employed 'house-keeping' the site, however. My guess would be weekly, though I don't know. All reports are read, however, and acted upon eventually. I would like to hear MyLot's opinion on reporting. My feeling is that it is only necessary to report an offence once with good detail and reasons. Multiple reports on a particular discussion or response merely waste the staff's time in reading them. That is why I generally stick my neck out and add a 'Reported' comment to responses I report.

I agree on some of your comments but i thunk that multiple reports work best . When you report someone you do it from their comment so i think all of the reports for that member would be together so if they look at a report they would see many reports from different people then check and act on that.many reports would be easier to see than just one on its own and i would imagine that the more reports a member has they would be acted on first

I have just checked my earnings for December and, on average, they have just increased by 1 or two cents a day. This is directly due to moderators working to delete discussions and responses and the earnings being redistributed.

well i dont think moderators are actually required here.. because mylot is not a forum site..its rather a discussion site but we can have some helpers who can help the new users and give solution to the problems of existing users!!!wat say

I agree, although I would hav to say that the moderators in emailcash don't really do a lot for idiots like Dimwit_one and Gavirulax. However, it is definitely something that might help, and I will send a message to mylot asking them to think about it.

This is a good concept really, moderators will definitely help this site to be clean of junk and scrap. Or they can also appoint some honest experienced members here for that job. It will bring a good control over spammers and cheaters over here, they must be given powers to delete and moderate some objectable discussions posted here.Hope mylot admins will think about it

experienced members is a great idea for mods i know one site that works that way and i hope mylot listens to it's members,it is for there benefit as well as i know quite a few members on another site are talking about leaving mylot

I disagree that there should be moderators picked from members. Members tend to clique up and that is far from fair when it comes to moderation. I have seen the cliques on here already and there is no way I would want other members having any sort of control on here.... It would turn ugly quite quickly. Besides some people on here are far more conservative than others. They would likely find many things offensive that others do not and then discussions would be deleted simply based on their own personal preference. That would not make MyLot enjoyable for everyone, just some.

Rosebug, this is indeed a very good suggesstion but then I feel that they must be definitely having their own team of expert moderators who will be and are continously working on the site deleting responses and discussions which are irrelvant and negative in nature. Also, if you see we are their customers and considering them as a company, they won't take any of us in their administrations rather than hiring one in their own company....

Yes i didn't actually mean members to do the job but most sites do have members that act as moderators

yes i personally think that tehy shud have moderators here because the"COPY PASTING CURSE"has grown to a great extent and since no member with posts less than 500 can do so,it means that it is being done by senior members which very unfortunate ur suggestion of having moderators will i think do alot to check this curse and i admire u for spending so much time,trying to keep the site clean

Actually this is not correct that the cut and paste is all being done by senior people, because some of those who were spamming my discussions did not have the 500 posts but they could still somehow put the same response into 2 of my discussions, as well as others, within a minute. How I do not know, but it was happening and there were several different user names involved. Not one of these people had started a discussion but had ratings of 100-300 in 1 day.

yea i pretty much agree. Im tired of the liers and cheaters on this site, and I am fairly a newbie. I think moderators would bring much more organization and ease to this site. I'll send a message to them soon as I get the time
@rosebug23 (1906)

Thank you i think if we send them enough messages on this they will have to listen . Mylot is pretty good like that but they are so busy it takes ages to get a response
8 Jan 07
to be honest i'm quite new and not quite sure what subjects have already been discussed. sometimes it's a chance you take posting things on here if your new. I never use copy and paste but i'm sure my questions have already been asked at some point. but i don't have much time to go through hundreds of old posts to find out if someone has already asked that question. I thought this site was going to be fun but so many people spend time moaning about other people that it actually spoils the site. sorry if you don't agree, but i believe in being honest.

You are fine ,we are not concerned abot same topics it is people who copy and paste other peoples topics steal them or steal someones good response and use it as their own.I think this is wrong and dishonest

I agree with you. I was perusing discussions yesterday (about a topic that interests me) and several times I saw a response that was in no way related to the quesiton/topic...and was this LONG, LONG post that appeared to be pasted from a dictionary! Geeze. And to think, that poster likely got paid for such nonsense! I hate to sound ignorant, but what is spamming as it relates to this site? (I have only been a member for a week). Spamming to me is when one sends unwanted emails! Thanks for your help!
@ossie16d (11821)

Spamming in this sense is when someone makes the same response to several discussions, and in some of the instances lately they have been several very long jokes and they in no way relate to the topic of the discussion.

I think that mylot needs to police itself better I dont think regular users should have to investigate users so I guess I am agreeing with you I dont know if the resources are available for paying these moderators though.

You can be a moderator. In the guidelines or somewhere, mylot asks you to report anything that you see that you think is against the rules. It just aggrevates me how people start discussions about something that somebody is doing wrong, that is just as bad as what the person that is doing whatever wrong. i'm not talking about your discussion because this discussion is good because your asking if their should be moderators, but the people who just start a discussion to complain about someone doing something against the rules is just stupid. But to answer your question, I think that mylot should hire moderators to look after things that are against the rules and pay them a little extra for time.

Mylot do have Mods but i think they need them in the site online so they can detect them sooner rather than waiting for reports

I think moderator should be there to monitor the whole situation. their presence. it is neccessary to have a moderators of the site to solve certain dispute at very moment and I add this that i feel the moderators presence at certain time because as my earning is not updated from 2-3 days and when i mail them informing about that, it is updated with in minute. So I think they are already thinking of improvement of site including invisible moderators.

I think they do have invisible mods but i think we need online mods in the site to stop cheats immediately

Mylot having moderators will be a good idea. In this way, we will be able to weed out unproductive posts and responses, added by different members assistance as well. I would like to suggest mylot select moderators from different countries as well as for their regular contributions to postings and responses. Also, these moderators will receive some kind of incentives from mylot.

Have you seen the growth of mylot? I think it took off and grew much quicker than they anticipated. I am sure they check posts, and if you report on bad posters I am sure it helps them alot. Every forum has abusers/spammers.. mylot wants us to help as we are browsing and posting to take an active interest in our mylot community. Why should they do all the work, and we just jump on here and earn earn earn? I am sure they are trying to keep up with the growth.. but wow... almost 55,000 people on here posting... that's alot to look after and check up on.. And growing all the time... I think that is why they encourage us to help weed out the bad posters. This is my opinion..

I totally agree with you, this site has grown so fast and i don't think they really expected it .That said if they want to keep growing they need to start to do something and fast. I was on another site yesterday and someone started a topic about cheats on the site and gave links within an hour the MOD came into the discussion ans saod he had checked out the cheater deleted his posts ajusted his money and gave him a warning . That was fast work and it only happened because they have MODS online checking all the time
